Your PDF and word count
The selected PDF is opened in browser memory on your device and is not uploaded to the publisher, Cloudflare, Ko-fi, or another document-processing service.
The filename, PDF contents, extracted text, page selection, and result remain inside the browser tab. The application does not create an account, cloud history, or document database. Closing or refreshing the page clears the in-memory result, subject to ordinary browser behaviour on your device.
Downloading extracted text creates a file locally at your request. Paper Count does not receive a copy.
Website delivery and security
Cloudflare Pages delivers the website. As with ordinary web hosting, Cloudflare may process connection and security data such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device headers, security signals, and network-error diagnostics. These data are used to deliver the page, maintain availability, prevent abuse, and investigate technical or security incidents.
- Purposes
- Website delivery, availability, troubleshooting, and security
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f))
- Recipient
- Cloudflare, Inc., acting as hosting and security provider
- Retention
- Provider-default or legally required periods; the publisher does not create a separate visitor-log database
Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area using the safeguards described in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
When you email us
If you send an email, the publisher receives the address, message, headers, and any information you choose to include. This is used to answer the request, handle feedback, and protect legitimate legal interests. The legal basis is taking steps at your request and/or legitimate interests, depending on the message.
Ordinary correspondence is normally deleted within 24 months of the last substantive interaction. A message may be kept longer when reasonably necessary for security, a legal claim, or a statutory duty. Email is provided through Google; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Please do not email confidential PDFs, identity documents, financial credentials, or sensitive research data.
Voluntary support through Ko-fi
Paper Count uses a normal external link rather than an embedded Ko-fi widget. Ko-fi is not contacted merely because you visit Paper Count. If you choose the support link, you leave this website and Ko-fi processes the visit under its own Privacy and Cookie Policy.
If you leave a tip, Ko-fi may provide the publisher with your display name, email address, amount, message, and transaction information. These details are used to acknowledge support, reconcile payments, prevent fraud, and maintain legally required financial records. Payment-card or account credentials are handled by Ko-fi's payment providers and are not received by Paper Count.
- Legal bases
- Your requested transaction, legitimate interests in payment administration, and applicable legal obligations
- Retention
- Financial records for the applicable statutory period; non-financial messages normally for no longer than 24 months
- Choice
- Support is entirely optional and is not required to use Paper Count
Cookies, local storage, and analytics
The Paper Count application does not set cookies, use browser local storage, run audience analytics, embed advertising, or load social-payment widgets. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security mechanisms as part of delivering and protecting the service. No non-essential tracker is intentionally enabled on Paper Count.
If analytics, advertising, embedded media, or another non-essential technology is introduced, this notice and the consent mechanism will be updated before that technology is activated for users who require consent.
Your data-protection rights
Subject to the conditions in applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Paper Count does not make decisions about you using automated decision-making or profiling.
Send a request to zeroesonesandyou@gmail.com. Enough information may be requested to identify the relevant correspondence or transaction, but unnecessary identity documents will not be requested.
You may complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) or the competent authority in the EU country where you live or work.
Changes to this notice
This notice may change when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top will be updated. Material changes affecting how personal data are used will be made prominent before the new processing begins where reasonably possible.
